About LEF Custom Guitars

One Builder. Every Detail. Every Guitar

I'm Luis Fernandez, the founder and builder behind LEF Custom Guitars, a one-man custom guitar workshop located in Corrales, New Mexico.

I've been building guitars since 2005 and professionally since 2009. Over the years, I've handcrafted approximately 400 guitars, each reflecting my dedication to craftsmanship, individuality, and attention to detail.

Every LEF guitar is built entirely by me, from resawing raw lumber and shaping the wood to finishing, wiring, and final assembly. I use traditional templates, jigs, and hands-on techniques rather than CNC machinery, personally overseeing every step of the process.

I dedicate at least six days a week to, constantly refining my craft and exploring new ideas.

Whether you're interested in having a custom guitar built, want to learn more about my process, or simply share a passion for guitars, I'm always happy to answer questions and connect with fellow guitar enthusiasts.
